The LPCF was founded by a group of physicians from Pediatric Cardiology Associates, Inc., of Baton Rouge: Michael S. Crapanzano, M.D.; R. Lester Hixon, M.D.; and Michael R. Brumund, M.D.
Michael S. Crapanzano, M.D. is a native of Baton Rouge. He received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Louisiana State University. He completed his pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and returned home to open his practice in 1995. Dr. Crapanzano is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics in the specialties of pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
R. Lester Hixon, M.D. is a native of Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed his pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics in the specialties of pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
Michael R. Brumund, M.D. grew up in Georgia and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Emory University. He received his Doctor of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency and his pediatric cardiology fellowship training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Brumund joined Drs. Crapanzano and Hixon in July 2001. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in the specialties of pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
