Fundraisers & Events

LPCF’s Heart Hero Hustle is a brand new annual fundraiser which will take place every spring at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales. The event includes a 5k, 1-mile Fun Run, and Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Walk. Corporate sponsorships, race registrations, and t-shirt sales contribute to this event’s success. In its inaugural year in 2016, over $20,000 was raised for LPCF.

Helping Heal Little Hearts is an annual fundraiser held every August, presented by Newsradio 1150WJBO with celebrity host Michael Berry. This party for a cause is held at the Varsity Theatre and features a private Meet and Greet with Michael Berry for top sponsors, VIP tickets including free drinks all night, an exciting live auction, catered food by Stroubes and live music by the V-Tones and The Chee-Weez bands. The combined proceeds from sponsors, auction items, and ticket sales bring in over $85,000 for LPCF.

The LPCF Family Picnic provides a wonderful opportunity to unite local children and families who have similar medical conditions and experiences. This free, annual event for children with heart disease and/or defects is held every fall at BREC’s Webb Park in Baton Rouge. All children and their siblings enjoy food, balloon art, crafts, face painting, inflatables and more. The event concludes with a special red & blue balloon release honoring all children battling heart conditions and especially our heart angels.
